Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Rewards: Gear, Mounts and Achievements
Mythic+ remains the most dependable gearing engine in Midnight, and Season 2 has quietly reshaped what every key is worth. Eight dungeons, a new crest currency, two wind serpent mounts and a pair of achievements that hand out free Catalyst charges – there is a great deal riding on how efficiently you spend your week.
The Season 2 Dungeon Pool
Season 1’s rotation has been retired in full. Midnight Season 2 runs a pool of eight dungeons: the new three-boss addition, the four Midnight dungeons held back from launch, and three legacy returns.
- Altar of Fangs – the new three-boss dungeon added with Patch 12.1
- Murder Row – Silvermoon’s underbelly, built around sin’dorei rogue and assassin design
- Den of Nalorakk – forest troll dungeon with dense, AoE-heavy trash
- The Blinding Vale – Void-corrupted zone with heavy sustained magic damage
- Voidscar Arena – the fourth Midnight dungeon held back from Season 1
- King’s Rest, Temple of Sethraliss and Ruby Life Pools – the legacy trio
Complete loot tables for all eight are catalogued in Wowhead’s Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ rewards guide, which is worth keeping open if you are targeting a specific slot.
How Gear Actually Drops

There are four separate routes from a keystone to an upgrade, and most players only use two of them properly.
- End of dungeon – timing a key rewards the group with two pieces, and those pieces are unique to each player. You must loot the chest yourself to find out whether you received anything
- Bonus loot rolls – spend Nebulous Voidcore at the end of a run for an extra piece from a separate class-specific table. Once an item is earned this way it is removed from that table permanently, so the pool narrows as the season goes on
- Great Vault – dungeon completions fill the Dungeon row, and eight runs in a week unlocks all three slots
- Warband gear – has a chance to drop at the end of a key, but cannot be traded to other players
Item Levels by Keystone Level
Mistcrests are the Season 2 crest currency, and the tier you receive scales with the key you complete. These are the published values for end-of-dungeon drops, crests and Great Vault rewards:
| Key Level | End of Dungeon | Crest | Great Vault |
| +2 – +3 | 295 – Champion 2/6 | Champion Mistcrest | 305 – Hero 1/6 |
| +4 | 298 – Champion 3/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308 – Hero 2/6 |
| +5 | 302 – Champion 4/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308 – Hero 2/6 |
| +6 – +7 | 305 – Hero 1/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 311 – 315 |
| +8 – +9 | 308 – Hero 2/6 | Hero / Myth Mistcrest | 315 – Hero 4/6 |
| +10 and above | 311 – Hero 3/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 318 – Myth 1/6 |
Both Season 2 Mounts

Season 2 rewards two wind serpents at the familiar rating thresholds:
- Breath of Blight at 2,000 rating, through Midnight Keystone Master: Season 2
- Breath of Ruin at 3,000 rating, through Midnight Keystone Legend: Season 2
Keystone Explorer, Conqueror and Hero sit between those two, alongside eight individual Keystone Hero achievements – one per dungeon – which unlock the dungeon teleports. Those teleports quietly save more time across a full season than almost anything else on the reward list.
Two Achievements Worth Prioritising
Two seasonal achievements pay out in ways that directly accelerate gearing rather than simply filling a collection tab.
Midnight Season 2: Serpent Scion rewards a Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux, an additional Matrix Catalyst charge earnable on every character. There are three ways in: 1,600 rating in rated PvP, 2,000 Mythic+ rating, or defeating Ula’tek in The Venomous Abyss on Heroic or Mythic. For anyone chasing an early four-set, this is the most valuable line on the entire reward list.
The Sssensational! achievement unlocks bonus visual effects on Season 2 tier armour via an Insidious Venomstone, and asks considerably more of you: Mythic Ula’tek, 2,500 Mythic+ rating, or Elite rank in PvP.
If either threshold is sitting just out of reach with the season clock running, a Mythic+ carry is the cleanest way to close the gap before rating requirements start consuming your entire week.
Trinkets Worth Targeting
Several dungeons carry role-defining trinkets that reward deliberate farming rather than hoping for a lucky chest:
- Altar of Fangs – Coiled Fangstone, Vile Vial of Volatile Venom, Knot of Writhing Serpents, Tattered Amani War Banner
- Murder Row – Manaheart’s Binding Flame for tanks, Unstable Felheart Crystal for healers
- Voidscar Arena – Tumor of the Swarm for tanks, plus Void Execution Mandate and Mindpiercer’s Sigil
- Den of Nalorakk – Permafrost Essence for tanks, Mycolic Medicine for healers
- The Blinding Vale – Seed of Radiant Hope and Sapling of the Dawnroot for healers
- Ruby Life Pools – the returning Ruby Whelp Shell and Blazebinder’s Hoof
FAQ
HOW MANY MYTHIC+ DUNGEONS DO I NEED FOR A FULL GREAT VAULT?
Eight completions in a single week unlocks all three Dungeon slots. Because tier pieces only reach you through those slots, eight is the genuine weekly target rather than a nice-to-have.
WHAT IS THE HIGHEST KEY WORTH RUNNING FOR GEAR?
A +10 gives you everything the loot system offers: 311 end-of-dungeon, Myth Mistcrests and an 318 Great Vault slot. Anything above that is pushed for rating, mounts and achievements.
CAN I EARN TIER SET PIECES DIRECTLY FROM KEYS?
No. Mythic+ tier comes exclusively from the Dungeon row of the Great Vault, or by converting non-tier gear at the Matrix Catalyst.
WHAT RATING DO I NEED FOR THE SEASON 2 MOUNTS?
2,000 for Breath of Blight and 3,000 for Breath of Ruin. Both are wind serpents, and both disappear when the season ends.
DO BONUS LOOT ROLLS EVER RUN DRY?
Effectively, yes. Each item earned from a bonus roll is removed from your table for good, so the longer the season runs, the narrower your bonus pool becomes – which is why early rolls carry more value than late ones.
